Go Healthy St. Louis
Go Healthy St. Louis recruits youth volunteers to build and grow vegetable gardens at low income schools. They educate youth about healthy eating, provide free cooking classes, donate healthy produce to food banks, and educate youth on the benefits of gardening and the importance of eating fresh produce while making a sustainable impact in St. Louis. Projects are entirely youth-led. Low-Income schools initially apply for gardens and youth volunteers assess the site and develop plans for a raised garden bed. Teens recruit volunteers, promote and plan, and coordinate the entire building and planting of the raised garden beds. Youth-centered urban agriculture projects promote community food security and sustainability.
